Mt. Rushmore and more miles...

The World’s Only Corn Palace was something to see  (and some pretty good popcorn, too).  The drive to Mount Rushmore was quick -- with the speed limit 75 mph, you can make good time. 

We LOVE South Dakota!  It is beautiful, you can drive FAST, the temperature is perfect (no humidity), and they sell "pop."

Mount Rushmore was well worth the visit.  We all have our favorite president: Courtney likes Teddy, Carter likes TJ, Frank likes Abe, Brandt and I like George.  We did learn that there actually IS a “Hall of Records” behind Lincoln, but it was never completed. 

I’m currently sitting creekside at the State Game Lodge in Custer State Park, our very nice home for the night, awaiting a dinner of bison or elk in the Lodge Dining Room (aka “The Western White House” as Coolidge and Eisenhower each spent a summer here).   SO nice to be out of the CAR!
